A man was awarded $65,000 in damages after a doctor removed his penis during surgery.
A French man was awarded nearly $65,000 in compensation after a surgical mistake resulted in the complete removal of his penis at Nantes University Hospital according to HollywoodUnlocked.
The man, who has three children, was diagnosed with carcinoma and underwent the surgery to remove the tumor. However, the urologist performing the procedure removed the man’s entire penis, leaving only the testicles.
The man, who has reported feeling “devastated” and “shameful,” has hired a lawyer who initially sued for one million euros but had the case rejected by a French court. The lawyer plans to appeal, arguing that the psychological damage was not considered in the original lawsuit.
