In a new interview, model Hailey Bieber opened up about persistent rumors speculating pregnancies over the years that have not been true. Bieber told GQ Hype that being bloated one time and dealing with pregnancy rumors as a result is “disheartening.”

When asked about how the rumors impacted her, Bieber said “there is something that’s disheartening about, damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant?” She expressed frustration at having her body continually analyzed by the public in this way.

The Rhode founder addressed how motherhood is something she is looking forward to in the future. Bieber said she previously felt as a younger woman that she wanted privacy surrounding raising kids, but acknowledged her life is different now being married to Justin Bieber.

Bieber shut down the ongoing pregnancy speculation, telling reporters “when there comes a day that that is true, you, you as in the internet, will be the last to know.” She advocated for control over discussions around her own body and decisions.
