Carole Baskin’s Husband: What We Know About His Status
In a surprising turn of events, Carole Baskin, the main subject of the hit Netflix series “Tiger King,” has announced that her former husband, Don Lewis, who has been missing since 1997, is allegedly alive and well in Costa Rica. This revelation comes after the release of “Tiger King” Season 2, in which Baskin claims to have received a letter from the FBI’s Homeland Security division stating that Lewis was alive.
Baskin stated, “They said that my husband, Don Lewis, is alive and well in Costa Rica.” She also said that she was ‘absolutely shocked’ after discovering this information while watching the second season of Tiger King.
The news that Lewis may still be alive comes as a surprise, as he was declared legally dead in 2002, five years after his disappearance. Baskin, however, claims that the letter she received from the FBI suggests that Lewis was alive after 2002, which would mean that Homeland Security would have known about his whereabouts for some time.
In addition to this revelation, Baskin also claimed that Lewis had taken $1 million to Costa Rica, but that poor investments had left only $80,000 remaining. Despite Baskin’s claims, Lewis has not made any public statement confirming that he is alive.
