NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory has been used to uncover hundreds of previously hidden black holes, providing astronomers with a more accurate understanding of the number of black holes in the universe. The study found that many of these black holes are supermassive, containing millions or even billions of times the mass of the sun, and are buried beneath dust and gas.
