Tom Holland is openly discussing his past troubles with what?
A Marvel fans
And the correct answer is: Alcohol.
Tom Holland has recently given a more detailed account of his struggles with alcohol addiction, following his admission in May that he had been sober for over a year. Speaking on the “On Purpose With Jay Shetty” podcast (via BBC), Holland revealed that he first realized he might have a problem with alcohol after a very boozy Christmas. This prompted him to attempt dry January, during which he found himself constantly thinking about drinking and became worried that he might have an alcohol problem.
Holland decided to extend his sobriety to two months to prove to himself that he didn’t have a problem, but he found it difficult to navigate England’s drinking culture. He felt like he couldn’t be social and struggled to go out for dinner or to the pub without drinking. This led him to extend his sobriety to six months, and by his birthday in June, he felt like he had turned a corner and could continue his sobriety without any doubts.
Holland spoke about how happy he was after six months of sobriety, saying that he felt healthier, fitter, and had better mental clarity. He was able to handle problems better and felt like he was no longer enslaved to alcohol. He even inspired his mother to follow his lead and become sober.
Holland, who has now been sober for a year and a half, openly admits that he was addicted to alcohol. He feels amazing now and is happy to share his experience with others.
